The Fantasy of Lights Parade in Gatlinburg, Tennessee is often a holiday family tradition for many in East Tennessee. It’s that time of year where the Smoky Mountain area begins to turn in to a Holiday Wonderland. Smoky Mountain Winterfest will be in full swing soon and there are events that the residents and our visitors are sure not to miss.
The Fantasy of Lights Parade in Gatlinburg is held on the First Friday of December and has for decades been a crowd pleaser. Families travel from far and near to line up their chairs and experience a special kind of Christmas Cheer as the floats and marching bands march down the Parkway of Downtown Gatlinburg.
There is a Gatlinburg Tree Lighting Ceremony that is held at 7:25 at Stoplight #3 and that lighting will then kick off the Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade.
Gatlinburg can expect 10s of thousands of people to fill the streets for the parade. The following day, in Sevierville there is also the Sevierville Christmas Parade that is held at 4 PM at the Forks of the River Parkway and also is a spirited and fun event.
